The Combined Arms Center and Command and General Staff College (CGSC) assisted U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM) in the conduct of its inaugural alumni symposium, July 18-20. The symposium included graduates of the U.S. Army CGSC and the Army War College.
On March 14, many of the Foundation board members spent the afternoon at Fort Leavenworth’s Kinder Range for an “Antique Weapons Shoot” hosted by the CGSC Department of Military History, Fort Leavenworth Frontier Army Museum and the CGSC Foundation.

The CGSC Foundation's will conduct the 2011 Distinguished Leadership Award dinner in honor of General Hugh Shelton in Raleigh, N.C., on April 7, with special guest speaker Mr. Ross Perot. After nearly two years of research, letter writing campaigns, visits to Congress and phone calls, the Command and General Staff College Foundation has finally succeeded in shepherding the “5-Star General Commemorative Coin Act” through the House and the Senate with the requisite number of cosponsors. The President signed the bill into law on October 8, 2010.
The Command and General Staff College Foundation has the good fortune to continue its strategic partnership with Flint Hills Resources, from Wichita, Kan., in support of the second annual Fort Leavenworth Symposium. Flint Hills Resources was the primary sponsor of the first-ever symposium last year.
