The 5-Star Commemorative Coin Act

To honor the rich heritage and contributions to our nation of the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, the CGSC Foundation seeks to mint a commemorative coin. Proceeds from the sale of the coins will help the CGSC Foundation fund programs and promote excellence in the faculty and students of CGSC. Congress must pass a bill to authorize the Secretary of the Treasury to mint commemorative coins. 

We need your help now!! The coin bill, H.R. 1177, passed in the House on May 20. We need to encourage our Senate to pass the Senate version of the bill, S.455, this year.

You can help in just FOUR EASY STEPS:

1.  Download the letter for your Senator here (click the image to download; the letter is in MS Word format):

2.  If you don't know the names of your senators go to www.senate.gov and use the search functions at the top of the page.

3.  Edit the letters by adding your name and address to the top, the date, your senator's name, and your typed name and signature at the bottom. You may also hand-write a note to personalize the letters.

4. Mail your signed letters to the CGSC Foundation. We will attach a copy of the Coin Bill brochure and hand-carry your letters to your members of Congress and fax them as well.
