CGSC Foundation trustee and retired colonel Norma Jean Bradford participated in a program hosted by the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum on July 26. Bradford, a recent Army retiree, was interviewed for a televised program to honor the 70th anniversary of President Truman’s Executive Order 9981 to desegregate the Armed Forces.
Director of the library and museum Kurt Graham led the conversation with Bradford and Rawn James, author of Double V: How Wars, Protest, and Harry Truman Desegregated America’s Military. Bradford discussed her experiences in the Army from second lieutenant to colonel.
