Nora Walker, the community library technician at the Ike Skelton Combined Arms Reasearch Library (center in the photo), visited the CGSC Foundation offices on Nov. 19, 2019, to present the Foundation with a “thank you” from the children that participate in the library’s youth reading programs the Foundation sponsors.
Walker presented Foundation President/CEO Rod Cox and Director of Operations Lora Morgan with a “thank you banner” the kids made at a recent program.
Each year the CGSC Foundation provides sponsorship that enables the library to purchase unique materials and services that enhance the youth and adult reading programs including a Lego room, support for reading themes such as “Dr. Seuss Day” and “Dress Like a Pirate” days, and prizes for achievement levels. Support to the library is part of the Foundation’s “Soldier and Family Support” mission, one of three broad mission areas that include support for scholarship as well as outreach at CGSC.
