The classrooms are empty, the parking lot is mostly empty, the halls and the food court are fairly quiet so it must be that time of year again when we slow down the pace of the college to a crawl in order to celebrate the holidays. As I write, we celebrate the last day of Hanukkah 2017, Christmas is just around the corner as is Kwanzaa, and then we head into the New Year celebrations with the ever present yet short lived resolutions. What a wonderful time of year!
The Foundation board of trustees and our staff all give thanks for a busy and successful year in support of our mission. We couldn’t have done it without the help of our donors and our volunteers and we can’t thank you enough. During the holidays, we will all be taking some time off to be with family to celebrate and enjoy the season. We look forward to 2018 as we continue to support the development of military leaders of character and competence for ethical service to the nation.
We hope you get time to spend with your loved ones and friends. May your celebrations be happy and may you give thanks for the gifts you have received.
We also ask you to be safe in your celebrations, as the obscure watch commander on an old TV series used to say “Hey, let’s be Extra Careful out there.”
To our friends and supporters, we wish you Merry Christmas and we wish you only the best in the New Year!
