5-Star Generals Commemorative Coin project underway

Simons Center Progress Report 2011 available

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (Jan 2, 2012) This report notes the progress we have made in just two years with the Colonel Arthur D. Simons Center for the Study of Interagency Cooperation. At this writing, the Simons Center, a program of the CGSC Foundation, has made remarkable progress.-- The Simons Center was created to support scholarship within the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and to foster interagency cooperation.

2011 Ethics Symposium kicks off with inauguration of Gen. Hugh Shelton Chair in Ethics

Foundation Trustee David Beaham dies

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (Oct 7, 2011) Trustees and Friends of the CGSC Foundation and U.S. Army Command and General Staff College: I have just been informed this afternoon of the passing of David Beaham, President of Faultless Starch Bon Ami, Kansas City, an original founding trustee of the CGSC Foundation and a great friend of CGSC. David passed this morning from a heart attack.

Foundation Chairman, Lt. Gen. Arter, makes tandem parachute jump

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (Sep 7, 2011) Lt. Gen. Robert Arter, U.S. Army Ret., the 81-year-old Chairman of the Command and General Staff College Foundation, Inc., and the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for the state of Kansas, made a tandem jump onto the golf course at Fort Leavenworth as the kickoff for the CGSC Foundation’s First Annual Golf Tournament at 10 a.m., Sept. 6.

Homeland Security Symposium Report published

Simons Center announces ‘call for papers’ for 2011 CGSC Faculty Interagency Writing Competition

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (Apr 4, 2011) The CGSC Foundation’s Col. Arthur D. Simons Center for the Study of Interagency Cooperation is conducting its second annual CGSC Faculty Interagency Writing Competition. The deadline for the précis for papers in this year’s competition is April 15. The deadline for submitting completed papers deadline is Sept. 1.

CGSC Foundation, K-State, U.S. Army CGSC conduct Homeland Security Symposium

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (Mar 10, 2011) A curriculum program addressing homeland security and emergency management issues will soon be unveiled, thanks to a collaborative effort between the Army's Command and General Staff College and Kansas State University. President signs 5-Star Commemorative Coin Act into law

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (Oct 15, 2010) After nearly two years of research, letter writing campaigns, visits to Congress and phone calls, the Command and General Staff College Foundation has finally succeeded in shepherding the “5-Star General Commemorative Coin Act” through the House and the Senate with the requisite number of cosponsors. The President signed the bill into law on October 8, 2010.
