The Todd Weiner Gallery in Kansas City is selected as the CGSC Foundation Corporate Partner for January 2017.
The significance of a partnership with an art gallery arose from a visit from Todd Weiner, owner of the Todd Weiner Gallery, and some of his staff in March 2016. That visit led to the gallery hosting an exhibit of CGSC art in September 2016. (See related story)
“We recognized the wonderful art and gift collection at CGSC and wanted to help to highlight its contents through education, celebration and engagement,” said Weiner.
Weiner’s excitement about the collection has led to a potential new project for the CGSC Foundation in support of the College.
“The gifts from our international students and other artifacts the College has collected over the years need some love and attention,” said Doug Tystad, Foundation CEO. “We honestly didn’t realize the intrinsic value of this collection until Todd and his folks showed so much excitement and interest in it. They’ve convinced us we really need to take better care of the collection and generate opportunities to show it off.”
The Foundation has dubbed the new project “The Art of War Initiative” and is working to secure support from others to help curate the CGSC collection.
Todd Weiner established the gallery in his name in the Kansas City Crossroads District in 2011. The gallery represents local and national emerging and established contemporary artists. Paintings, sculpture, ceramics, photography, fiber, glass, works on paper, and other mixed medias are available for purchase. The Todd Weiner Gallery also offers consultation, framing, display, and other creative art services. Its customers include first time collectors, patrons, art enthusiasts, as well as private collectors, corporations and museums. The gallery also has 1200 square feet of gallery space available for private events with up to 150 people.
The CGSC Foundation is proud to spotlight the Todd Weiner Gallery for their support of the Foundation and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
