The West Point Society of Greater Kansas City and the Tim and Karen Carlin Foundation, both located in Kansas City, Mo., are selected as the CGSC Foundation Corporate Partners for November 2016.
The Tim and Karen Carlin Foundation and the West Point Society of Greater Kansas City have one thing in common – retired Col. Tim Carlin. Carlin is the president of the Kansas City chapter of the West Point Society and he and his wife Karen run their own non-profit foundation together. Tim is also a currently serving trustee of the CGSC Foundation.
“Tim’s involvement with us, his leadership with the West Point Society and of course, leadership of his own foundation with his wife represent a great synergy of interests,” said CGSC Foundation CEO Doug Tystad. “His leadership and support led to a very high level of sponsorship of our recent Celebration of International Friendship from both organizations. Tim’s personal foundation also sponsored last year. It’s support like this that has really helped make that event possible.”
The West Point Society of Greater Kansas City is a non-profit organization seeking to serve the interests of the United States Military Academy, it’s graduates, and other members of the West Point Community throughout the Greater Kansas City area. Membership is open to graduates, former cadets, parents of cadets and friends of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Carlin is a graduate of the 1982 class there. The Tim and Karen Carlin Foundation mission is to further the goals of a strong, vibrant, positive Greater Kansas City community. Tim’s involvement in both organizations has proven to be very beneficial to his ability to support the CGSC Foundation.
The CGSC Foundation is proud to spotlight the West Point Society of Greater Kansas City and the Tim and Karen Carlin Foundation for their support of the Foundation and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
