Foundation Director of Operations is Person of the Month – November 2018 | Command and General Staff College Foundation, Inc.

The CGSC Foundation has selected Ann Soby, the director of operations, as the Person of the Month for November 2018.

Ann has called the Leavenworth/Fort Leavenworth community home since 1998. Her husband, Chuck, retired at Fort Leavenworth and they have remained here since raising two sons and now a granddaughter.

“Ann was brought in as the director of operations in January 2009,” said CGSC Foundation President/CEO Doug Tystad. “For nearly 10 years she has anchored the Foundation team, planning and coordinating pretty much every event or activity in which the Foundation has been involved. Her contributions do not go unnoticed by anyone who comes in contact with the Foundation. We have been fortunate to have her on our team.”

Soby has made the decision to retire from her Foundation work and will work with her successor to conduct a smooth transition. Her last day on the job is Nov. 16. She and her husband will remain in Leavenworth.

“The Foundation staff and the board of trustees, and frankly everyone on the College staff and faculty and anyone else she worked with over the years, will certainly miss Ann,” said Tystad. “Fortunately she’ll still be in the area and has offered to come and help us any time. We hope that won’t be necessary, but we do hope to stay in touch. I personally can’t thank her enough for all she’s done to help make my job easier.”

“The Foundation mission is so important to all of us and I have enjoyed being a part of this team and this college,” said Soby. “There is so much to look back on, but I think I’ll miss the people the most. Our staff has been wonderful. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our trustees and their families. I also enjoy the interaction with the students and faculty here in the Lewis and Clark Center as well as our donors and participants in our programs. I can’t say thank you enough to all.”

We salute Ann Soby for her 10 years of dedication to the CGSC Foundation mission and wish her and Chuck well as they begin the next chapter of their lives. – Ann Soby is our “Person of the Month” for November 2018, but if you ask us, she’s been our person of the month every month since she got here.
