The public is invited to attend a dinner welcoming war correspondent and author Sean Naylor on Wednesday,
March 1*, at June’s Northland (614 Pottawatomie St., Leavenworth, Kansas). Guests will be welcomed at a social reception from 5:30 – 6 p.m. Dinner is from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

This event is hosted by Kansas State University Military Affairs as part of their “Political, Diplomatic and Military Lecture Series.” The cost of the evening is $22.50/person, payable at the door. Only cash or checks will be accepted. – Checks should be made payable to “PDM Lecture Fund #F34210.”

Dinner choices for entrees: Champaign Chicken, Smoked Beef Brisket or Grilled Salmon.

RSVP with dinner choice no later than Feb. 27 to Richard Crowley at crowley@ksu.edu or 785-307-0139. Seating is limited, so those interested should RSVP in a timely manner.

Naylor’s books will not be available for purchase at the dinner, but he will sign copies for guests that bring them.

* Naylor will also be appearing in Manhattan, Kansas, on Thursday, March 2.

Sean Naylor is a highly acclaimed journalist who has been a dedicated observer of military operations for more than two decades, Naylor-wincluding coverage of the Afghan Mujahideen’s war against the Soviets and American military operations in Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

In May 2002, he was named one of the 22 “unsung” influential print reporters in Washington by the American Journalism Review and has been presented with the White House Correspondents’ Association’s prestigious Edgar A. Poe Award for his 2005 book Not a Good Day to Die, which describes his first-hand account and subsequent scholarly research from his time as an embedded journalist during Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan.

His latest book, Relentless Strike: The Secret History of Joint Special Operations Command, was published in 2015.
