Information Advantage Symposium – May 21

Join the Information Advantage Scholars of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in discussing student research on a variety of topics, including AI, data, command and control, countering narratives, and more. Through discussion panels and networking opportunities, attendees of this symposium will gain insights on military approaches to creating information advantages.

Our keynote speaker is retired Vice Admiral Kelly Aeschbach, who last served as the commander of Naval Information Forces from 2021 to 2024. Her previous assignments include serving as commander of the Office of Naval Intelligence, director of the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office, and as deputy director of intelligence for United States Forces – Afghanistan.

Aeschbach is a 1990 graduate of George Washington University. She received her commission through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps and was designated as a Naval intelligence officer. She holds a Master of Business Administration from San Diego State University.

DISCUSSION TOPICS DETAIL

Topic one: Integrating AI and Data for Information Superiority
How AI-enabled decision-making, data fabric architecture, and real-time analytics contribute to situational understanding and influence across domains.

Topic two: Information Advantage as a Combat Multiplier
Examines how information operations shape the battlefield, enable decision dominance, and support multi-domain operations through synchronization of cyberspace, space, and influence operations.

Topic three: Countering Opposing Narratives and Strategic Influence Threats
Tools, frameworks, and operations to detect, assess, and counter adversary influence campaigns. Focus on synchronization of MISO, IO, and public affairs in support of operational objectives using a whole-of-government approach.

Topic four: Command and Control in the Information Environment
Integrating the Information Warfighting Function into the commander’s decision cycle. Focus on the role of C2 networks, information sharing, and battle rhythm alignment to drive tempo and initiative.
