The CGSC Foundation invites the public to attend a Distinguished Speaker Series dinner event at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 12, at the Carriage Club in Kansas City, Mo. (5301 State Line Road, KCMO).
Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad
The evening’s keynote speaker is Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad who served as the U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan (2004-2005), Iraq (2005-2007), and the United Nations (2007-2009) and also served as the U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation (2018-2021).
Born in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan, Khalilzad received his bachelor’s and his master’s degrees from the American University of Beirut and his doctorate from the University of Chicago. He is the author of The Envoy: From Kabul to the White House, My Journey Through a Turbulent World.
