The Foundation continued its “Walk and Talk” outreach program by hosting a visit from a group of Accelerent members in October. Accelerent is a networking platform where decision-makers can build relationships with other decision-makers for the sole purpose of growing their respective companies. The “walk and talk” program focuses on educating and informing the public about Fort Leavenworth, CGSC, and the CGSC Foundation.

On Oct. 6, Foundation CEO Doug Tystad led 11 Accelerent partners on a tour of the Fort Leavenworth post. The group learned about the post’s long history and took a closer look at some of the oldest buildings on the post, which are also some of the oldest buildings in Kansas. The next stop was a tour of the Command and General Staff College, which included a visit with Jeff Lamoe, CGSC chief of staff, who provided the group with an “Army 101” briefing. After touring the building that included the Eisenhower Auditorium, the Hall of Fame, and the gallery of historic paintings they visited one of the classrooms. Dr. Jack Kem discussed the curriculum, the makeup of the classroom and the technological capabilities in detail.
