Congrats to the CGSOC Class of 2016

Congratulations to the CGSC Classes of 2016! The SAMS Class of 2016 has graduated and departed for the most part and the CGSOC Class of 2016 graduates on June 10. The CGSC Foundation has been pleased to be a part of these classes and to have supported in a number of ways throughout the school year. We know that you studied hard, learned more than you think, and made lasting friendships that will serve you well the rest of your military careers and into your post-military lives.

CGSC Deputy Commandant Brig. Gen. John Kem welcomes the CGSOC Class of 2016 on Aug. 10, 2015. The class will graduate on June 10, 2016.

I have had the privilege of spending time with students and faculty throughout the year. I remain impressed at your dedication to the profession of arms and the depth of your intellectual efforts. As an old retired guy, I know that our country’s future is secure with warriors of your caliber on duty in service to the nation. Thank you for your service.

As you leave, I hope you will remember your time at CGSC and reflect on what you’ve learned and the importance of this time in your development. We don’t call it “the best year of your life” for no reason, I believe you will find that as you reflect back on this time, you will see that you’re a better officer for having been here. Please remain in contact with the College and your classmates. – You now have a professional network to work within that will serve you well.

Finally, I’d like to say that it has been the Foundation’s privilege to support your class. Next week we will be giving you a token of your time with us and the Foundation News will show the support that we provided to the Classes of 2016. We hope you stay in touch with the Foundation and let us know what you’re doing in your next assignments. If there’s ever anything we can do for you, please do not hesitate to contact me at dtystad@cgscf.org.

Congratulations again, good luck, and Godspeed in your new assignments.
