Jodi Krippel (left), current CGSC Student spoke about their military experiences at the monthly meeting of the Overland Park, Kansas Rotary Club meeting May 9. CGSC Foundation President Mike Hockley (right in the photo), a member of the club, invited them to speak as part of the Foundation’s efforts to extend the College’s outreach as well as educate the club’s membership on military matters in their own metro area.

Colonel Bradford began her career as a full time Soldier in the Active Guard/Reserve program. She has served more than 25 years of active federal service in the United States Army. Her remarks to the Rotarians included the obstacles she faced as a female and single mother in the Army, as well as her achievements throughout her years in the military.

Similarly, Maj. Krippel spoke about her journey as a female officer.  She earned her Regular Army commission as a second lieutenant in the Adjutant General Corps in 2005. Among her many assignments, Maj. Krippel  has served in the 101st Airborne Division and deployed to Iraq.

The audience was riveted as each told their respective stories and asked many questions during the question and answer period. Many of the Rotarians spoke with them after the meeting and thanked them for their service to the nation.
