The CGSC Foundation hosted the monthly meeting of the Leavenworth/Lansing Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Friday, April 24, as part of the CGSC Foundation outreach program.

Chamber President Jennifer Daly coordinated the meeting with the CGSC Foundation. Fifteen board members attended of whom many had never toured the halls of the Lewis and Clark Center, home of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College on Fort Leavenworth. Foundation CEO Doug Tystad led the board members on a tour of the Center after which Lt. Col. Chris Johnson, an instructor in CGSC’s Department of Military History, provided a demonstration of the Center’s classroom capabilities. The College Chief of Staff, Mr. Jeff LaMoe, also provided the board members with a detailed overview of the College and how the Army educates its leaders.

After the tour and briefings, the board members conducted their meeting in one of the classrooms. At the conclusion of the meeting, Tystad took the members on an additional tour of the CGSC International Hall of Fame (IHOF) gallery where the photos of international officer graduates of CGSC who have been inducted into the IHOF are displayed.

Special thanks goes to the Fairfield Inn and Suites for facilitating transportation for the board members that did not have visitor passes or access cards to Fort Leavenworth.
