Remember…Memorial Day 2016

Remember…Memorial Day 2016

In 1866, some of the first Decoration Day ceremonies were held in Columbus, Mississippi and Waterloo, New York to honor those that died during the Civil War. Later renamed Memorial Day and expanded to include those who have died in all American wars, this tradition has always included a somber remembrance of service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice. As we continue this tradition 150 years later, we as American citizens are all still responsible for remembering. –

“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”

– President John F. Kennedy
