Partner Spotlight February 2020 – AUSA

AUSA logoThe Association of the United States Army (AUSA) headquartered in Arlington, Va., is selected as the CGSC Foundation Corporate Partner for February 2020.

Since 1950, the Association of the United States Army has been educating the members of Congress and the American public about critical issues that affect the men and women of the U.S. Army who proudly serve our country.

AUSA is also a supporter of the Command and General Staff College Foundation, Inc., and has made significant financial contributions to the CGSC Foundation mission since its inception in 2005. The Foundation has also recognized the leaderhip of the former AUSA President and former Chief of Staff of the Army, retired Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan, with its Distinguished Leadership Award for 2009. Gen. Sullivan is also a founding trustee of the CGSC Foundation.

More recently current AUSA President Gen. (Ret.) Carter Ham served as the Foundation’s “Colin L. Powell Lecture Series” lecturer for the CGSC Class of 2020.

“As an educational association, AUSA understands the value of the Foundation in fostering a strong relationship between the military and private sector to enrich the academic environment at the Command and General Staff College, to promote excellence in the faculty and student body, to encourage valuable research and maintaining ties with alumni,” said Sullivan when delivering his acceptance remarks for the Foundation’s Distinguished Leadership Award.

“Those remarks are as relevant today as they were back in 2009,” said CGSC Foundation President/CEO Rod Cox. “We’re proud of the relationship we’ve enjoyed with the leadership at AUSA national headquarters and we truly appreciate their support of our mission over the years. But we should also recognize the two local chapters of AUSA – the Henry Leavenworth Chapter in Leavenworth, Kansas, and the Greater Kansas City Chapter in Kansas City. We have great relationships with both chapters and enjoy their support as well. To reciprocate that support we maintain corporate membership in both of those chapters and provide mutual support where possible.”

The Association of the United States Army is a nonprofit educational and professional development association serving America’s Army and supporters of a strong national defense. AUSA provides a voice for the Army, supports the Soldier, and honors those who have served in order to advance the security of the nation. AUSA is open to anyone, whether they have a relationship with the U.S. Army, or would simply like to offer support to Soldiers. All Army ranks and all components are represented in AUSA, including Regular Army, National Guard, Army Reserve, and Government Civilians. Indeed AUSA welcomes anyone who subscribes to the philosophy of a strong national defense with special concern for the Army. Community businesses and defense industry companies are also vital and contributing members of AUSA. For more information visit www.ausa.org.
