The CGSC Foundation conducted its annual board meeting Oct. 7-8 at the Lewis and Clark Center on Fort Leavenworth.

The meeting began on Oct. 7 with a short review of committee work followed by a reception in the atrium with some students and faculty. After the reception board members had dinner together at the Frontier Conference Center to farewell Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Ray Barrett. The board presented Barrett with a Foundation chair in appreciation for his retiring after 10 years of service as one of the Foundation’s founding trustees, its first Vice Chairman and as director of the Simons Center.

The following day the meeting continued with special presentations from the CGSC Deputy Commandant Brig. Gen. John Kem and CGSC Commandant/Fort Leavenworth commander Lt. Gen. Robert Brown, who both addressed the new Army University structure being put into place across the Army. The Fort Leavenworth Deputy to the Commanding General Mr. Kirby Brown also spoke to the trustees about the installation and staff requirements for Army University.
