The CGSC Foundation invites the public to visit the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit will be set up in the parking lot of the Fairfield Inn in Leavenworth, Kansas (1101 4th St.), across the street from Fort Leavenworth. Admission is free.
Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992. The organization’s mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as at thousands of veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.
The Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit is a 48-foot trailer equipped with a 24-person screening room that showcases the different aspects of the WAA mission through video. At the front of the exhibit there are three interactive computers to showcase WAA locations, trucking supporters, and general wreath sponsorship questions. Inside the exhibit is also a wall of educational information on the different aspects of WAA and how the mission will be carried out in the future.

The CGSC Foundation is one of the WAA sponsor groups that helps spread the word about the WAA mission and specifically works to place wreaths on veterans’ graves in the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. The Foundation’s goal in 2022 is to place wreaths on every one of the 981 graves in Section B of the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. The wreaths will be placed on Wreaths Across America Day, Dec. 17, 2022.
Visitors to the mobile education exhibit will learn about the WAA mission and how to support. To sponsor a wreath to remember and honor veterans during the 2022 holiday season through the CGSC Foundation visit https://wreathsacrossamerica.org/KS0101P
