The third Thursday in March is Absolutely Incredible Kid Day®! Today is a day to celebrate kids and to tell the young people in your life what makes them incredible.

Over the years, the CGSC Foundation has been fortunate to support countless incredible kids through our family programs, including the children’s reading programs at the Ike Skelton Combined Arms Research Library (CARL).

The CGSC Foundation also supports absolutely incredible “big kids” through the DACOR Visiting Professor of Diplomacy program and the scholarship program.

During their trips to Fort Leavenworth, the DACOR Visiting Professor of Diplomacy visits area high schools and colleges to speak to students about their experiences. Students have an opportunity to learn more about current events and what careers are available in the foreign service.

The DACOR Visiting Professor of Diplomacy Program is conducted in partnership with the Diplomatic and Consular Officers, Retired, Inc. (DACOR) and the CGSC Foundation, and is supported in part by area universities.

The Foundation launched its scholarship program in early 2020, awarding the first four scholarships in April 2020. Scholarships were awarded to two high school students and two college students.

The scholarship program expanded in 2021 to include a scholarship to Park University – made possible through the Foundation’s partnership with Park.

The winners of the 2021 scholarships, including the new Park University scholarship, will be announced in April.

To all the young people whose lives the CGSC Foundation has touched, we think you’re absolutely incredible!
