The CGSC Foundation donated supplies and books to the Ike Skelton Combined Arms Research Library on Jan. 28, 2021, as part of their continuing support of CARL’s reading programs throughout the year.
Sierra Hochstatter, CARL Community Technician, visited the Foundation’s offices to pick up the Foundation’s latest round of books and supplies for the children’s programs, including story boards for CARL’s latest StoryWalk®.
“The children’s programs have been especially important during this pandemic, as they give both the children and their families a fun, engaging activity to take part in and a greater sense of community,” said Elizabeth Hill, program assistant and editor for the Foundation.
“The CGSC Foundation’s support of family programming allows CARL to put on events such as our StoryWalks, Summer Reading programs, and special events like our Halloween Trick-or-Treat,” said Hochstatter. “These events promote family togetherness and literacy. From their generous support we are able to bring our community closer to each other.”
The Foundation is also sponsoring CARL’s Valentine’s Day goodie-bags effort. For every request for a children’s book Feb. 1-16, readers will receive a Valentine goodie-bag. Visit the CARL website for more information.
