The Foundation continued its “Walk and Talk” outreach program by hosting a visit on April 13 from representatives from several companies in the Kansas City area including the Marriott Hotels, Olsson Associates, Main Event, and the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.

On the morning of April 13, the group gathered at the Lewis and Clark Center, home of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, where they met with Jeff Lamoe, CGSC chief of staff, who provided the group with an “Army 101” briefing. After the briefing they took a a tour of the building which included Eisenhower Auditorium, the Hall of Fame, and the gallery of historic paintings. Foundation CEO Doug Tystad then took them into a classroom to discuss the technological capabilities as well as the curriculum and the makeup of the class. The group’s visit ended with a tour of Fort Leavenworth in which they had the opportunity to see the old disciplinary barracks, historic homes and the Buffalo Soldiers monument, among other treasures of the fort.
