Guerrero manages the program that allows employees from other U.S. government agencies to attend CGSC and the reciprocal program that sends U.S. Army officers to those same agencies to complete 10-12 month fellowships. Currently more than 19 U.S. government agencies participate.

“The interagency program overseen by Ms. Guerrero provides an excellent opportunity for interagency collaboration and coordination,” said Foundation President/CEO Rod Cox. “Having government employees from various agencies attending CGSC is wonderful for the interagency education of all students and faculty and the opportunity for Army officers to serve a fellowship in another agency is great for all concerned. What the fellows teach their host agencies about Army ways of leadership, planning and operations is invaluable and what the Soldiers bring back to the Army from their experience makes for better units and down-range cooperation. Hopefully the future will see more students and fellows participating in this program.”

Current students in the program here now are from the State Department, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency, Central Intelligence Agency, U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The Army has fellows at the State Department, U.S. Marshal Service, Customs and Border Patrol, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, Department of Commerce, Department of Transportation, Department of Agriculture, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The Foundation’s interest in Guerrero’s program isn’t one-sided. Guerrero values what the Foundation offers to her program students and fellows.

“The Interagency Directorate’s relationship with the Command and General Foundation provides an unprecedented opportunity for our fellows to publish and to network with the Foundations’ members,” said Guerrero.

The CGSC Foundation is proud to highlight Monique GK Guerrero for her leadership of a very unique and valuable program at the College and this recognition as CGSC Foundation’s “Person of the Month” for December 2019 is well deserved.
