The second lecture in the Vietnam War Commemoration Lecture Series is scheduled for Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. in the Arnold Conference Room of the Lewis and Clark Center on Fort Leavenworth. A reception sponsored by the CGSC Foundation will begin at 5:30 p.m.
This second lecture in the series is “The Diem Years and the Early Advisory Effort, 1956-1963.” Dr. James H. Willbanks, CGSC’s General of the Army George C. Marshall Chair of Military History, will lead a discussion on early U.S. involvement in Vietnam from the period of U.S. support to the French, to U.S.-led advisory period from 1956-1963.
