International military officers and their families gathered for a Farewell Tea on the afternoon of June 6, at Hunt Lodge on Fort Leavenworth, KS.
The U.S. Army Command and General Staff College’s Staff Officer Course class of 2022 includes 113 international military officers, and more than 200 international military officers and their family members took part in the farewell afternoon tea. Bounce houses for the event were provided by Fort Leavenworth FMWR, and refreshments were provided by the CGSC Foundation.
Earlier in the academic year, the CGSC Foundation sponsored the International Family Fishing Derby, which took place on September 11, 2021.
“Sponsoring events like these allow us to show our international families a piece of Americana, and provides these families opportunities to create lifelong memories of their time at Fort Leavenworth,” said Rod Cox, CGSC Foundation president/CEO. “The Foundation is glad to include international officers and their families in our Soldier and family support programs.”
Other CGSC Foundation-sponsored programs that support U.S. and international families include children’s reading programs at the U.S. Army Combined Arms Research Library and family scholarships for Lifetime Members of the Alumni Association.
