Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

CGSC Foundation Alumni, Friends, and Supporters –

Greetings and Happy New Year from Fort Leavenworth! As we begin the second half of the school year for the College, our Foundation continues to plan for an increased number of activities to execute our mission and to do good things for good people.

We continue to enhance leader development with our InterAgency Brown-Bag Lecture Series, our Distinguished Speaker Series, the publication of a faculty-authored book on the Cold War and the Simons Center’s InterAgency Journal. Likewise we are planning for a number of visits by Simons Center Fellows, DACOR professionals, and other subject matter experts to add both curricular and extracurricular presentations for the College students and faculty. And we will assist the College as they engage in several international exchange programs, providing resources and support as CGSOC students and faculty both travel to and host several international partners as they engage in military planning events.

Our outreach activities that connect the College with the public continue to increase as we present our monthly Arter-Rowland National Security Forum in Kansas City and plan to hold a similar quarterly Forum in Des Moines. After a long hiatus due to COVID-19, we will once again in partnership with the College, co-host the 2023 National Security Roundtable in April. NSRT guests will be able to spend a couple of days interacting with CGSC leadership, faculty and students as we discuss issues of national importance and experience Army leader development methodologies. And our award-winning Foundation News magazine continues to grow in circulation and impact as we present information from the College leadership, discuss happenings at the College, and provide a forum for alumni updates. I invite all alumni to send us information you would like to share.

Our support to military families and the CGSC community continues to grow as we provide books, gifts, and program materials to the Ike Skelton Combined Arms Research Library for their various children and family programs. We are planning a Spring family-friendly, once-in-a-lifetime experience at the Kansas Speedway. And our Alumni Association scholarship program continues to grow, providing military families resources for college education. We are pleased that a group of friends and family joined together to offer the Colonel Stephen E. “Brownie” Brown Scholarship and that Park University is once again offering scholarships through our program.

We always post all of our upcoming events on our website, so check back with us often.

Your support during 2022 was very important and very much appreciated. Your continued support to our Foundation matters. Our Foundation makes a positive difference in the educational experience and leader development of those serving our country at CGSC and beyond. Thank you.

Stay safe.
