Saint Luke’s Cushing Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas, is selected as the CGSC Foundation Corporate Partner for December 2016.

Saint Luke’s Cushing Hospital is a comprehensive health care facility serving all of Leavenworth County. This year leadership at the hospital became involved with the CGSC Foundation and the Command and General Staff College and decided to become one of the key sponsors of the 2016 Celebration of International Friendship at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Kansas City.

“We’re proud that Saint Luke’s Cushing Hospital and the Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City have partnered with us on such an important event,” said Joan Cabell, the CGSC Foundation director of development. “We hope to continue working with Cushing CEO Adele Ducharme and her staff on other projects that contribute to the community and the well-being of our CGSC students and their families.”

Saint Luke’s Cushing Hospital is a faith-based, not-for-profit, locally owned 54-bed full-service hospital, featuring 24-hour emergency services, Leavenworth’s only maternity center and nursery, intensive care unit with eICU, private patient rooms, orthopedic services, cardiology services, oncology services, digital and 3-D mammography, outpatient imaging and rehabilitation, Pain Management Clinic, diabetes education, and physician offices integrated on campus for optimal patient convenience.

Cushing provides top-quality health care for residents of Leavenworth, Lansing, Basehor, and surrounding communities. Visitors to Cushing’s Emergency Department have access to heart and stroke protocols developed by the world-renowned Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute and Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute. The hospital was recently named one of only 46 Emergent Stroke Ready hospitals in the state, a designation that recognizes Cushing’s ability to care for stroke patients. Opened in 1894, Cushing was one of the first hospitals in northeast Kansas.

The CGSC Foundation is proud to spotlight Saint Luke’s Cushing Hospital for their support of the Foundation and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
