“The CGSC Foundation was very fortunate to have had John serve on our Board, said Foundation President/CEO Rod Cox.  “He is not only a person of great stature in the business community, he is also a very nice man of great integrity and who is a great mentor and friend.  His patriotism and respect for the men and women who serve our country always was in the forethought of his actions. When he took on the responsibilities of the 1st vice chair, he contributed greatly to many of our governance issues to include the recruitment of two very impressive classes of trustees for 2022 and 2023.”

Robinson, who retired from Black & Veatch, Inc. as vice chairman in 2000, and now serves on several corporate Boards, has deep ties to the area. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from the University of Kansas and continues to be an active supporter of KU. He also graduated from the Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program.

“John’s willingness to lend his personal prestige and to use his impressive business contacts to support our Foundation’s work in support of the Command and General Staff College and the military families here at Fort Leavenworth has been nothing short of superb. He has been a Trustee who has made a difference,” Cox said. “John told me that over his many years of living and working abroad for Black & Veatch he came to have an appreciation for military servicemen and women and that he was honored to have been given the opportunity to demonstrate his respect and admiration by serving with our Foundation, Cox added. “To that statement I will just say that the honor has been all ours. A greater patriot and nicer gentleman, I have not yet encountered.”

The CGSC Foundation is proud to honor and thank John Robinson for his over nine years of service on our board of trustees. His leadership, patriotism, and dedication to the Foundation and those whom we support is truly deserving of recognition as our Person of the Month.
