The CGSC Foundation's 5-Star Generals Commemorative Coin Program came to an end Dec. 31, 2013. Final reports of the financial benefit to the Foundation are still being produced, but CEO Doug Tystad says he is very satisfied with the overall results of the program.

The CGSC Foundation has completed its search for a new Chief Executive Officer this month with the selection of retired Army colonel Doug Tystad. Tystad accepted the Foundation’s offer and will begin work Oct. 1. He was previously employed by Northrop Grumman as a program manager.

CGSC Foundation CEO Bob Ulin retired this month following seven years of leading one of the fastest growing staff or war college foundations in history. The CGSC Foundation opened its office in Bell Hall on Feb. 13, 2006. Ulin, retired Lt. Gen. Robert Arter and retired Col. Willard Snyder are the founders of the CGSC Foundation.
In honor of Memorial Day, the CGSC Foundation is conducting an essay contest with the winner receiving an autographed copy of the book Generals of the Army, which complements the 5-Star Generals Commemorative Coin Program from the United States Mint.
