International Military Family Fishing Derby – Sept. 9

The Fort Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club invites all international military students and their families to a “Fishing Derby” at Merritt Lake on Fort Leavenworth (just west of the corner of Grant and Sedgwick Ave.) on Sept. 9, 2023.

The derby is free to all international students and their families and no fishing license or equipment is required. The Rod and Gun Club will provide the equipment and bait.

Registration will open at 8 a.m. on Sept. 9. Fishing’s Future, a nonprofit that provides opportunities for families to reconnect to nature and learn about angling, will conduct presentations beginning at 8 a.m. Fishing will be from 9 a.m. – 11 p.m. and the closing and announcement of winners will be at 11:30 a.m.
